CLIMATE CHANGE AND HEALTH
Background
The impacts of climate change pose significant and growing threats to public health, particularly in vulnerable communities across Uganda and the world. Rising temperatures, environmental degradation, and shifting disease patterns demand an integrated and proactive response. At BIT Global Climate Change and Health Collaboration, the Climate Change and Health service area focuses on building climate-resilient health systems through Research, education, community engagement, and cross-sector collaboration.
This service aims to reduce the health risks associated with climate-related challenges such as deforestation, urbanization, and water insecurity. By empowering communities, supporting data-driven decision-making, and fostering inclusive partnerships, we work to ensure that all districts—regardless of economic status—can effectively prepare for and respond to environmental and health crises. Our goal is to create equitable, sustainable, and informed responses that protect both people and the planet.
