Background

Antimicrobial resistance is one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time, threatening the effectiveness of life-saving treatments and the control of infectious diseases. At BIT Global Climate Change and Health Collaboration, our Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) service is focused on raising awareness, promoting responsible antibiotic use, and supporting the development of sustainable strategies to combat AMR across Uganda.

Through community education, data-driven collaboration, and strengthened partnerships with key stakeholders—including government agencies and international health organizations—we aim to reduce the misuse of anti-microbials and enhance research and response capacity. Our approach prioritizes equity, ensuring that all districts, regardless of resources, are equipped to face this growing threat with resilience and informed action.
