Emmanuel Obuya holds a Masters degree of Biostatistics of Makerere University and a bachelors degree of Mathematics of Uganda Martyrs University. Emmanuel is a Communication and Dissemination Manager at BIT-Global Climate
Change and Health Collaboration in Uganda. He has worked as a statistician at Makerere University School of Public Health where he has done data management and analysis for various projects including; The Alliance for a Healthier World (AHW) project, REAP Project under Ministry of Health, Uganda and UNICEF, Human trafficking project among others.
Emmanuel is a research-oriented and practicing biostatistician who is very open to learning. His research interests are in statistical modelling and data visualization in relation to health policies and management of health systems. He has skills in use of mobile data collection applications like Open Data Kit (ODK), RedCap, SurveyCTO and Open Clinica; data entry software like Epi data, Epi Info, Microsoft Access; statistical analysis software like R, STATA and SPSS, and interpretation of statistical analysis output. He has experience in use of electronic health data systems including the ministry of health, Health Management Information System (HMIS) and the electronic Medical
Records System (EMR). His experience spans to data management processes including data quality control and assurance through the various previous assignments in the health field. Emmanuel has participated in analysis of data of various forms including survey data, repeated measures data, multi-country data, time series data among others.
Emmanuel is driven by the need to utilize accurate and timely research evidence to inform decisions.
